it's strange where i'm at.
if not for one tiny decision, i would be in a mental hospital this very second.
i would be fed pills and more pills and more pills by nice doctors in nice coats.
i would be isolated, manipulated..
now i go from these threats to life. i go from a single miserable moment to an all-encompassing renaissance of an existence i've never known.
this week alone i've experienced so many monumental, altering events that i don't know where to start when someone asks.
i never thought i'd be this girl.
i'm so glad to be out in the world, but terrified of what comes next.

i think i am going to start working at an indie film theatre, at least for a little while. my friends dia and dicko work there, and tell me it's quite a lot of fun. i would earn a bit more than average, and get four free movie tickets for every day i work. it sounds pretty perfect. plus, it would be nice to buy a rebel with my own money, or at least go out for coffee without paying in dimes..

dear buddha. i thank you greatly for allowing me to evolve as a human being, to transform my personality and adapt to my surroundings. i am in constant appreciation for the abilities i have, the creative and intellectual potential my mind has, and the discoveries i seem to make every second. this beautiful world, the one i used to be so inclined to mistrust, has taken shape. i no longer pessimistically see that which is headed for disaster, but rather the spaces in-between. those i can fill in. all i want in this world is to be able to maintain and build on the incredible energy of my soul, transmit it to other human beings and transform lives, spiritually and mentally. my greatest desire is to create something so beautiful, love it so passionately, and allow someone else to share in that beauty and appreciate it intensely. i would love to live in venice beach, a small apartment overlooking ocean tide. someplace where i can be connected to sea and concrete intermittently. i lust after knowledge and beautiful instances of life. i long to appreciate all the melodious sounds around me, the poignant intellectual progress that has been made and hidden away in otherwise ordinary instances. i want to be the most amazing human being i can possibly be, and i hope for that to translate to other people. get back into the rhythm of writing, drawing, collaging, never allowing my mind to be anything other than active and rapid. i am a human being, and i am alive, and i want to take full advantage of that.

i feel pretty human again. myself, even. whoever i am.
roger invited us into the cave and we drove there to discuss intelligence, contribution to the art world, found photography, and his technophobia. we ate guacamole. i impressed him. the coral in the fish tank fluttered like waving hands or birdwing feathers soaring, so we waved back. i took photos of him. i felt guilty; i should have used film.
my photography teacher shows us slides of all the people who died for their art. as a result of mercury or ether poisoning from daguerreotypes. i draw lots of little circles but it helps me really listen. elegant women on elephant trunks, photograms.
i think i will like it here. i think i can survive. |

i have been paper-journalling a lot. today i drank coffee and read the bell jar and ate an apple and watched the royal tenenbaums. i looked at ruby mag and collaged a bit and drew a racist stereotype. my nails are blue. bones stick out again.

the unicorns are amazing. i am like very in love with the world again. want to watch sigur ros videos. i'm almost at my most fabulous point. there is something really lovely going on right now. i just can't explain it. i am on such a high..
i love eli and jagged movements and i feel like myself finally. i feel like i know exactly who i am and who i ought to be. there is something so graceful about that discovery.. i keep thinking about princess diana and ink. i keep coming up with ideas for saving the world. i don't feel as crazy as i did and i don't feel as dependant on my insanity. that's a bloody amazing feeling.
recovery can be summed up in one sentence: why do i still waste ink on you?

the most ideal state of mind can be acchieved, but it’s always better or worse than you’d expect. dissapointment more often than elation in her case. vice versa in his. maybe that’s why they fit so well together besides their puzzle piece body parts, but who knows? he doesn’t love her, but he keeps her company. so maybe everything’s alright. |
